Tips and Ideas for your Bridesmaid Bouquets

Choosing who will stand by you on your big day is incredibly important, just as important as picking the flowers that each of them will carry! Here are some tips for choosing your bridesmaids flowers, because after all they will be in a lot of your wedding pictures!

Flip Colors
If you have a muted bouquet, make the bridesmaid's bouquets more colorful so that they help make the bridal one pop, and vice versa.

Highlight Individuality
While you should definitely decide on a type of flower and color scheme, give each bridesmaid a bouquet that speaks to their personality and differs from the others. It will mean so much more to the bridesmaids and it will make for a gorgeous look!

Be Original
We love when a bridal party shows some originality with their flower decorations, such as carrying small flower rings or wreaths. It’s a refreshing way to add a unique style of your wedding!

Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair
Don’t be afraid to skip out on the bouquet! We love a fun and flirty head wreath for your bridesmaids. It’s the perfect way to accentuate and show off a gorgeous bridal dress.

Keep it Simple
If you’re going for a elegant and sleek look, keep the bridesmaids bouquets simple with monochromatic bouquets.

Complement The Bridal Bouquet
Choose bouquets that are a smaller and simpler version of the bride's to keep the look clean and uniform.

Wrap It With A Ribbon
Tie your bouquets together with a long delicate ribbon to add some depth and elegance.

5 Things to Consider When Picking Your Wedding Flowers

There are many factors to consider when choosing your wedding flowers. Here at Wisteria Lane we want to make sure you are choosing the perfect flowers so we always ask our clients a couple of important questions to understand which bloom will work best!

Seasonal Flowers
First and foremost, it’s important to understand when the wedding is and have the flowers match the season. Any florist will recommend that you pick flowers that are local and in season to keep costs low and to ensure that the flowers are of the highest quality. Not sure what flowers are in season for your wedding? Email us!

Dress Style
We will always ask to see the bride’s wedding dress before making a decision about a bouquet. Knowing what type of style the dress is will help us make a decision of how to complement it with flowers. We like to think of the bouquet as an extension of your dress design and want to ensure that the two are a match made in heaven!

Venue Type
Similarly, it’s important for your florist to view the venue to ensure that the centerpieces, bouquets and overall flower decor fits the space and ambiance of your wedding venue. For example, you may not want to pick a modern design for a vintage ballroom.

Event Type
Will your wedding be casual? Formal? Will it be a sit down wedding or a cocktail-style party? These questions will inform us on how to design your space using flowers and help us elevate the design of your ceremony and reception.

Time of Day
The time of day will have an effect on which flowers we choose for your wedding day. For example, you may want to choose a brighter bloom to lighten up a space for an evening reception, and enhance it with candlelight.
